Zijdebalen, Utrecht
Project Zijdebalen in Utrecht is part of the historic ‘Bemuurde Weerd’, which originated around 1300 as a suburb of the walled city Utrecht. Now there is a new city district emerging on the edge of the historic city centre. The urban planning guarantees a high level of public space. For example, the quay of the Vecht (the Zeedijk) is provided with new paving and a stately row of trees.
The residential areas between the building blocks are widely applied, so that a lot of space will be created between the buildings. In the Zijdebalenstaat – between residential block 3 and residential block 4 – a new city canal will be constructed. A new square ,on the west side of block 2 forms, the heart of the plan area. This creates a perfect balance between urban living and a green spacious public space, which keeps you breathing. In addition, each apartment block has a green-style courtyard. The indoor gardens of blocks 2 and 4 are provided with beautiful wrought iron entrance gates.

Skymaster Tulip Inn, Schiphol Oost
In October 2016, the new hotel Skymaster Tulip Inn at Schiphol-Oost was opened. EME Hospitality Projects has been asked by Ping Properties to advise on a new fitting F&B concept for this hotel. The hotel will have 143 rooms spread over five floors and will be decorated with the focus on the interior concept ‘the green oasis at Schiphol’. The target group is mainly passengers at Schiphol between the age of 25 to 55, as well as business travelers in the budget segment.
